- what did you perform?
- how did you feel like you did?
- what was your judge like?
- what advice would you give to future generations of musicians about how to prepare for a solo, and how to perform well at the festival?
You guys did a nice job today, and you represented your school well. Thanks for all the effort you put into getting ready for this event!

I thought it was a good expirence and fun at the same time. When we first got there I was scared that I was gana make a mistake and feel bad. But my performence was at the end, so twords the end, I saw other people perform and I started to get excited to play. I say just breath in and out and forget that no one is watching and if you make a mistake, you won't feel so bad. I was so nerves sometimes when I was practicing in front of my class that I would mess up because I was thinking to hard. But all in all, just forget about pressure and have fun, like I did.
I performed "Three Friends" with Julia and Arica and also "New River Train" with everyone in the large group. I wasn't nervous until we had to perform. The judges were great. When we fell apart at the end of New River Train, the judge was really nice about it and laughed with us. The Three Friends judge was cool too. He taught us some new stuff that I think that we could do. Advice for younger students: When going to a festival, be willing to learn new things, have fun with your friends, and support each other!
I performed a clarinet quartet with Rachael, Jenna, and Tosha playing "Morimah". I think we did pretty well for our first time in front of a judge. our judge was a very nice judge. Advice: That you should practice a lot. I also sang in the vocal ensemble singing "new river train". We did pretty well on it but we missed a few words. The judge we had was the same judge I had while playing in the clarinet ensemble,he was a very nice judge like I said earlier
The festival was fun and i would want to do it again. I played Three Friends and New River Train. I thought that on New River Train we could have done better but we still did realy good! The judge that we played Three Friends for gives you advise on what you are doing right and what you are doing rong with and tryed to help you improve. For future people i would say you should get a song that is at your playing level and practise a lot and when you preform don't let your nerves mess you up.
My first festival was really fun.I really enjoyed watching everyone's performance.I performed Morimah in a clarinet ensemble.I felt like I did a good job in the festival. My judge was very nice. One thing I would say to future generations of musicians is to practice a lot so that you know the song very well.
1. I was part of the Mixed brass ensemble. We played Fanfare Royale.
2. As a group we did pretty good, a few wrong notes here and there. I was satisfied with it.
3. Our judge was really nice. When we got done playing the song he had us replay some parts until we played them right.
4.Practice!!! We practiced our ensemble enough, but we could have practiced more and probably done a better job.
It was really fun. The judeges were really nice and it was cool to see how good kids from other schools preformed. I played in a mixed brass ensaumble. We played Fanfare Royal. Ya, I think we did good we were all together and we hit most of our notes. The judge we had was nice. After you were done preforming he would tell you how you did and help you work on the shaky parts. For future band/choir members: just practice as much as you can and do what ever you can to get better because it will really pay off in the future.
I played a clarinet ensemble with Sara, Jenna, and Tosha and sang in a group ensemble. I felt really good about it and I had a lot of fun.My judge was really nice and gave us really good advise. To the future generations I would have to say go for it, you will have a lot of fun to.
The festival was fun but I was nerves I sang Danny Boy I forgot some of the word but I recovered.
That was my solo then I played the Bass Clarinet the song we played was called Morimah.I think I did good but I could have done better. My judge was nice and helped me so I no what I have to work on. Make sure you know the words to the song. JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had so much fun at the festival! I really had fun with everyone. Some advice for some students next year would be to have a good attitude about performing in front of people, once you try it... you don't think its so bad. Learn from the judges, too, they are there to help you!
I had fun playing with my friends and playing in front of people. I played a song called Patriots March made by us and our teacher( mainly it was by our teacher, we named it). I played with Jace and Caleb. I played the snar drum, Jace played Bass drum, Caleb played the mallets.
My first festival was fun I was happy to see all the good remarks from the judge. The judge was nice to help with some problems we had in our song.I thought I did good for performing in a big place. we played Patriot March. In the future I would say work hard on the song.when time comes to perform take time to to calm down and think about the song.
my first festival was fun. i preformed new river train for choir and three friends(flute trio)for band.i felt i did a good job on both. both of my judges were nice, they gave us some info. on how to do better next time. i would tell future generations that it is fun to do, and you will enjoy it. if you get nervous take deep breaths to calm you down be thinking about the next part so you do not forget it.
the song i played on my flute was easy, and i knew it really well, and that made me less nervous when i was going to play it. if you sing in an ensembale it is not that bad because if you mess up other people are singing so the judge may not notice it.i did not sing a solo so i do not know what it feels like. but most of all you should have fun doing it!also youn should keep on going if u make a mistake.
My first music festival was amazing. I played in the brass trio in Fanfare Royal. When I was warming up I didnt know that two of my valves on my trumpet were in wrong and there was no noise coming from it. It would have been very scary to go out there and not have any noise come out. In the end I felt like I did A good job. The judge was great you would play and then they would tell you how you can improve on your piece. If you make a mistake just keep going and never quit.
my first festival was very fun i was so scared. I perfomed danny boy and i thought i did not so well but from the responce that i got from my judge and my friends. My judge was very nice he gave me good advice i am i glad that i chose to sing my solo. one thing i would tell everyone who is going to a festival is know your music and just have fun and be confident!!
I had a lot of fun at the festival! It was interesting to see our results at the end and I was really happy to see how well we did. I sang in the vocal ensemble for "New River Train". I thought we did good, we hit all the notes, I'm not sure about the ending because some of the sopranos forgot to sing their part...including me...haha oops! Overall, it was good! I was a bit nervous in the big auditorium but I got over it once we started. I thought the judge was very positive and nice, he did mention the song was hard and that made me feel better about the end of the song. I would give advice to practice, practice, practice! Also work on holding a good posture and stand straight and don't play with your hands. Good job you guys!
I thought it was totally awesome. It was a great expirence. I played spring breezes with katie on the sax and it went realy well. The judge was realy nice. He listened to us and when we finnished he had us make some adjustments and had us play it again. He was realy nice. Then I preformed a solo. The solo I did was Amazing Grace (my chains are gone) by Chris Tomlin. I was VERY nervous. When I first got called up I wanted to just not go up there and say that I wasn't going to do it but I when i went up there i had lots of friends and support from them that i know no matter how good or bad i did they would say i did realy good (and they did.) I think an ok job. When i do it again i will try to be less nervous and just have fun. The judge i had four this was realy nice also.
I had a lot of fun at the festival this year. It was a great expirence for all of us. It realy got me ready for the senior high choir. The first song I performed was New River Train, we sang that one as a group. The second song I performed was Scarborough Fair. I thought I did okay even though I mess up on the last part of the song. I can tell you some tricks to help you feel lest nervous when you are about to sing. Number 1 take a big breath and number 2 if you don't like looking at people when yoiu are singing look at their ear and they'll think you are looking at them. The judge that was listening to us was impressed with what we did. The judge who was listening to me when I sang Scarborough Fair said that I did really well. I was told to continue singing in choir. But most of all forget that you are even at a festival and have fun while you are singing, I know I did.
i performed Scarbough Fair i was sooo nervous but i think i did ok i could have been louder and i know i messed up the key change my judge was really nice and made sure i knew what could have been better so i can get better at it when you are in a festival make sure you know the words you will be nervous but even if you do mess up no one will make fun of you and your friends will be there to chear you on if you mess up a solo just keep on it doesnt matter the biggest thing to remember is to have fun no matter how scared you are!!!!!!
my first festival was the bomb.I preformed a solo called liza jane. My advice for future musicians is to be confident about what you are doing.it's not a big deal what other people think it's about what you think.Oh and remember to have fun with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kendall
I thought it was pretty fun. I performed a solo called "Amazing Grace". The judge was nice and he gave me good tips on how to perform better. I was alittle nervous. I would suggest that you practice your songs well and remember to have fun and support each other!
I had a lot of fun at the festival! it was interesting to watch all the other people sing or play an instrument. I performed New River Train, I felt like as a group we all did great(even though we forgot some of the words at the and).We had a very nice judge and he was very helpful in telling us what we need work on. I would tell people that were to sing a solo to learn and study the song all the time and dont worry about being nervous just have fun.
My first festival was very fun. I performed new river train. I think that me and my group did good but i think that we messed up at the end of the song. My judge was a good judge I thought and i think that he was very good at, and i think that he was very nice. My advice for future generations for musicians is that when you sing just be yourself, and be relaxed also when you sing have good posture.
I thought it was a good expirence for the first time and it was fun at the same time. when we got there I got excitted and ready to perform. when it was my time to sing I got nervous, but when i stared to sing liza jane I felt better and when i was done singing my judge was very nice and he showed me what i needed to work on like in the beging i said hi instead of i. At the end I was happy and glade that I sang my song.Don't look at the JUDGES when you SING!!
My first festival was a lot of fun! I perfomed "Spring Breezes" with Haily, and sang the "New River Train. I thought we did very good! The judges were very helpful, They told us what things we did good and what things we needed to work on.
For future musicians: don't get to scared or nervous because it's just for fun and everyone makes mistakes.
